Intensive peeling of deep wrinkles and scars under anaesthesia
The treatment involves the peeling of wrinkles and scars affecting the deeper tissue layers of the skin, and the tightening of the facial skin, with laser surgery. In the course of ContourPeel exfoliation, the Erbium-based tuneable resurfacing laser evaporates the layers of the skin deeply with the help of a scanner, thereby removing the wrinkles and scars. It heats up the tissues below the peeled layers, which shrinks the collagen network and lifts the skin lift naturally (lifting effect). With the treatment, the facial skin will smooth out.
Recommended for
Those who have wrinkles and deeper folds on the face or have pleated wrinkles on both sides of the face. Those whose facial skin contains deeper or larger scars resulting from a former acne process. Those for whom a plastic surgeon has not yet recommended a facelift or have already had plastic surgery and their facial skin has developed wrinkles again. Those who are willing to undergo a treatment that involves some injury to the skin, a few weeks recovery period and achieve a spectacular effect.

Preparation
ContourPeel exfoliation is arranged by appointment; it cannot be performed on the day of examination. Patients need to take acyclovir pills from one day prior to treatment for 10 consecutive days (in order to avoid any effect causing any sudden flare up of herpes which may occur after treatments involving a skin injury).
The treatment
In the course of the ContourPeel exfoliation, we use a high-speed and high-accuracy scanner to evaporate the top layers of the skin. The depth of the intervention can be set accurately on the equipment, and thereby we can plan the recovery period. The smoke is extracted with a medical smoke extractor system equipped with HEPA filters thus preventing inhalation by the patient or the treating staff. The treatment causes discomfort, therefore we peel the wrinkles around the lips under wired (dental) anaesthesia, while we apply deep anaesthesia when the whole face needs to be peeled.
Ability to work, nursing at home
The injury to the skin appearing on the entire skin surface treated with ContourPeel exfoliation can cause redness or weeping of the skin or eyelid swelling (oedema) even if the eyelid is not treated separately, and therefore the patient is unable to work. The skin surface below the skin layers removed with the laser forms a dry, brownish sheet, which cracks and peels off in large sheets after a few days. The fresh, young skin layers become visible after the peeling. Following the treatment, the skin demands careful nursing at home, but makeup can be applied after a week. We recommend avoiding exposure to light for 3 months after the treatment.

Scientific background of the treatment
The ContourPeel exfoliation is based on the Erbium:YAG laser technology developed by Sciton Inc., a US laser manufacturing company. With a Tuneable Resurfacing Laser the recovery period can be planned and a safe intervention depth can be set up for each skin surface. The high-precision tool performs real peeling, unlike the consequential peeling caused by the fractioned CO2 lasers and which is the secondary side effect of the damage to the top skin layers caused by heat. The latter cannot be planned as precisely as the Erbium-based tuneable resurfacing laser. Led by Dr Gábor Varju, Dr Derm Anti-Aging Dermatology, Aesthetic Laser and Plastic Surgery was the first institution to use the equipment and the related treatment method in Hungary.
Cost of the treatment
The price of ContourPeel exfoliation varies between HUF 198,000 and HUF 360,000. Other treatment combinations are available at further cost. The above treatment price involves local anaesthesia but does not include light sedation or deep anaesthesia.
