Tightening of the lower and upper eyelids with fractionated laser
Weaker and drooping eyelids often require plastic surgery, though cutting cannot be recommended when the eyelid has slackened, causing an aesthetic problem, though there is not enough tissue cut. The fractionated laser tissue tightening technology can be used safely on thin eyelids, making them tighter naturally, without surgery.

Those whose look seems tired due to the deterioration of the quality of the skin around the eye. Those whose eyelids have weakened and started to droop but have not yet reached the eyelashes. Those for whom, in the opinion of a plastic surgeon, it is too early to perform surgery. Those who have already had plastic surgery on their eyelids but their eyelids have weakened again. Those who do not yet wish any surgical intervention and seek a gentler means skin rejuvenation with laser. Those whose facial skin has been rejuvenated with some ablative or non-ablative method and wish to pay special attention to the area of their eyes. Those who wish to treat only the area of their eyes.

Preparation
EyelidLaserLift 3L treatment is arranged by appointment as it cannot be performed on the day of the examination. Patients need to take acyclovir pills from one day prior to the treatment for 10 consecutive days (in order to avoid any effect causing a sudden flare up of herpes, which may occur after treatments involving a skin injury).
The treatment
In an EyelidLaserLift 3L treatment, we treat the complete upper eyelid - from the eyelashes to the eyebrow line - and the lower eyelid. The laser makes tiny pricks on the skin, progressing millimetre by millimetre with the help of a scanner (fractionated ablative treatment). The smoke is extracted with a medical smoke extractor system equipped with HEPA filters thus preventing inhalation by the patient or the treating staff. The treatment may cause discomfort, and therefore we use a pain relief cream in advance. The EyelidLaserLift 3L treatment is also available under light sedation and, in conjunction with major interventions, under deep sedation.
Ability to work, nursing at home
Due to the fine skin ablation, the eyelids may swell (oedema) and therefore the patient will be unable to work for a few days. After the swelling has disappeared, you will feel the tightening effect immediately after the swelling has disappeared, though the full reconstruction of the skin structure requires time. Following the treatment, the skin requires careful nursing at home, though makeup can be applied after a week. We recommend avoiding exposure to light for 3 months after the treatment (sunglasses)

Scientific background of the treatment
In the EyelidLaserLift 3L treatment we use the Erbium:YAG laser-based ProFractional-XC technology developed by Sciton Inc., a US layer manufacturing company. The heating caused by the laser makes the collagen shrink (natural lifting effect) and the fine skin ablations will be replaced by fresh cells (cell rejuvenation effect). Led by Dr Gábor Varju, Dr Derm Anti-Aging Dermatology, Aesthetic Laser and Plastic Surgery was the first institution to use the equipment and the related treatment method in Hungary.
Cost of the treatment
The EyelidLaserLift 3L costs HUF 198,000 or, when it is connected with the ablative treatment of the whole face, it costs HUF 150,000. The above treatment price involves local anaesthesia but does not include light sedation or deep anaesthesia.
